Healthy Shabu Shabu SM Aura, my fav restaurant...needs to have PEST CONTROL ASAP.
SPOT THE COCKROACH!
We ate there yesterday for lunch ( January 20 2019 ), 24 pax at Healthy Shabu Shabu in SM Aura to celebrate in advance the birthday of my husband. We always go there as this is my favorite restaurant, since last year after having a surgery and now that I am trying to be healthy.
Yesterday, however, I saw a cockroach on our table as they were putting the food. I killed the cockroach with a tissue and quietly called the attention of the male server and showed it to him. He didn't even apologized, said nothing, just took the tissue and left. Then while we were eating, our Korean guest Mr Hong who was seated beside me, saw again another cockroach in our table. He killed it with his glass. The guests on the other table called the server, this time a female server, and showed to her the glass with the killed cockroach at the bottom of it. Again, no apologies from the staff, and she just took the glass and left.
We called the attention of the male server to refill our iced tea, he just passed by us. So, another guest had to louder his voice, and shouted "WAITER waiter" a couple of times, for him to look at us. I talked to the main waitress and told her the male server should pay more attention to the diners, and also should learn to apologize for incidents like the cockroach, as he just didn't care as if it was normal to have cockroaches there. I politely informed our waitress as i didn't want to make a scene for my guests are enjoying the birthday celebration, and I don't want to ruin it.
After we left the restaurant though, the nephew of my husband informed me that he saw a cockroach in their table ( separate table ) on his garlic and onions. He said he called the attention of the staff, they didn't apologize but they changed the garlic, etc. Good though that my nephew took a pic of the cockroach and forwarded it to me.
So, I am so confused now. I love their food and I love shabu shabu. I always go to SM Aura and this is there only shabu shabu in Aura. This is a fav restaurant, but hubby asked me if I would still want to go back there after seeing all those cockroaches, and knowing that the restaurant is pest infested.
